Bing is seeking experienced software engineers to join the Bing Social engineering team, which is responsible for improving our search experience through the social content indexed by Microsoft. This position is specifically for a Senior Development Engineer within our Bing Social platform team, which is responsible for ingesting, analyzing, and serving all of the social media we receive from our partners: Facebook, Twitter, Quora, Klout, etc.
We’re looking for a smart, highly motivated developer who is passionate about building great products. We offer a fun and fast-paced team working on some of the largest scale applications on the web, with big challenges in handling huge amounts of data in real time, lots of opportunities to get your ideas seen and shipped, and the ability to work closely with top minds working across the search technology landscape. As part of the social and people search platform engineering team, you will be critical to building bulletproof systems to process and serve billions of new pieces of information every day. Job Requirements:
A solid computer science background (B.S. or equivalent degree; Master’s Degree preferred)
5+ years of great software development skills in C# or C++
Deep real-world experience with web services, Asp.NET, HTML, CSS, and Javascript
Experience building social apps is ideal, but not required.
Successful track record of seeing projects through the complete software development cycle.
Good communication skills and dedication to quality are a must, as is a passion for building great end user applications that have great performance at very large scale.
