Bing Performance team is looking for a Software Design Engineer to help deliver the fastest search experience to our millions of users. To excel as a data analyst in the Bing Performance team you need to know how to efficiently look for hotspots and patterns in large volumes of raw data. This job will entail learning about a very wide spectrum of web technologies and how they related to the data patterns. The ability and the drive to understand these technologies and also performance optimization techniques, network protocol and topology design are a key part of this role. This job also requires the ability to collaborate across a number of teams in Bing to convert the data into into actionable knowledge that results in improvements in the product?
Developing performance analysis tools to understand Bing live-site performance, defining accurate sample sets for pre-production and release candidates, and auto-diagnosis of performance issues to accurately identify root causes play an integral role on this job.
Qualifications:
M.S in CS/Math/Statistics is required. MS in CS with specialty in data mining and machine learning is a plus.
Minimum of 7 years of experience working on software products and/or services is required.
Extensive experience in data modeling, trend analysis, and regression and causality analysis is required
Hands-on experience with statistical packages such as R or equivalent statistics tools such as SAS, SPSS is preferred
Development experience in C/C++/C# is a plus
Knowledge of client technologies (javascript, css, html, browsers) is a plus.
