The Bing Multimedia Search Team develops advanced technologies to enable image and video search on the Web. Our products include: Bing Image Search and Bing Video Search. Multimedia Experiences is a sub-team of Bing Multimedia responsible for end-to-end development of user-facing features of Microsoft’s image and video search engines. We are a fast-paced one-stop R&D team and provide ample opportunities for strong developers to influence the algorithms, architecture, user experience, quality, and performance of our products. MM has been one of the top engagement and query share increase drivers within Bing and we aspire to accelerate the pace thru very talented people like you.
We are looking for someone that
- Is strong in both engineering and algorithm design, especially in machine learning, large scale data mining and processing.
- Is able to take on broad technical initiatives, drive and work on algorithm and architecture design, execute and deliver results.
- Is passionate about coding, quality and teamwork.
As part of team you would also get an opportunity to work with research teams pioneering with latest technologies around data mining and image understanding.
Primary responsibilities of the position:
- Design, develop and improve algorithms to power rich user experiences
- Contribute to the design, coding and shipping of significant multimedia search technologies
- Aid in monitoring our live site and ensuring rock-solid reliability and performance for our millions of users
- Ensure that our products ship fast and with high quality
- Working effectively with the other disciplines within Multimedia and with other organizations within Bing to help us become the best search engine on the web
This job requires strong technical skills. You must have the following skills and experience:
- Solid machine learning and data mining background
- Demonstrated experience in a rapid development environment, ideally at web service pace
- MS or higher degree in CS or equivalent
- At least 5+ years of industry experience in software development
- Experience in distributed computing and system, image/video processing is a plus
